Qaitbay Castle is a 15th-century defensive castle located on the Mediterranean coast, in Alexandria, Egypt. It was founded in the year 1477 AD by the noble Sultan Saif Al-Din Qa`t Bay. The castle is located on the eastern side of the northern end of Pharos Island, at the mouth of the eastern port.
